Welcome to Forest River, an unincorporated subdivision in Wheeling Township. We are located North of Maryville in Des Plaines, and South of Kensington Road in Mt. Prospect. What makes us unique is our rich history, and close proximity to the Des Plaines River. Some of the 240 houses date back to 1935. We are the oldest subdivision in unincorporated Cook County. Our focal point is Civic Hall, located at 207 Lee Street. It is a place of meetings, parties, and other events. It is a place where Forest River Civic Association has continued the annual tradition of organizing pancakes breakfasts, spaghetti dinners, and Forest River Days for all our residents. Click on the Interesting Residents, and History links above to learn more about our pioneers, and their amazing lives in our subdivision decades ago.
